Cafe Casa Professional Dual Speed Milk Frother Review

Welcome to the Cafe Casa milk frother review! In this post, we’re going to closely examine a rather unusual handheld milk frother. This is for people who want a bit more flexibility in their frothers, who want to be able to do more with it than just whipping up a nice thick head of foam. If what you’re looking for is a multitasker, then this might just be the thing for you.

The contents of this review will include: A list of the features of this product from the manufacturer – more detailed than usual. We’ll then translate those into benefits, if those aren’t already included. After that, we’ll sum up the pros and cons to give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of good and bad, then follow it up with opinions by other customers before wrapping up the review.

FYI: That said, if you’ve already done your research on the Cafe Casa and only want to know where you can get it for a great price, we recommend you shop at Amazon.com. Aside from the awesome deals (including discounts) that they give, Amazon also has some pretty quick and reliable delivery. >>CLICK HERE<<

The Cafe Casa has a two-speed drive – high and low – allowing you more flexibility in using the device. Use the lower speed for making your froth, and the higher speed for more intensive things that are not necessarily for foaming up a latte.

Setting it to high lets you whip up a good froth in as little as ten seconds, though I’d caution you to know what you’re doing. If you’re not careful, chances are it’ll end up quite a mess. Still, for those morning rushes, a ten-second froth is a very welcome blessing.

The secret behind this two-speed drive is the Cafe Casa’s powerful 15,000 rpm motor. That’s 250 revolutions per second. At high, not only will it froth up a storm in the blink of an eye, it’s also powerful enough to beat eggs, make smoothies, and even whipped cream.

Plus, it also makes some great froth for non-dairy milks like almond or soy, which, due to their lack of saturated fat, produces a foam that doesn’t last as long. I’m personally a full-cream person, so I won’t be needing to use this feature for that, though.

The casing is made of stainless steel. As we’ve said before, stainless steel is an industry standard in the kitchen. That means it’ll be a bit on the heavy side, but you can be sure that it can take a beating. Or if you don’t want to abuse it (and why would you, really?), then it will at least withstand the test of time. Solid housing and nice and shiny, to boot.

US-based inspection. Well, obviously this is a form of quality control. First time I’ve ever heard of a China-made product advertising that it goes through US inspection. It’s a way of saying that they’re so confident in their work that they put it through rigorous American quality control checks.

As the Cafe Casa is fulfilled by Amazon, that means it comes in Amazon’s tested and proven frustration-free packaging. So you can expect that your product will arrive at your doorstep in very good condition.

The product comes with a one-year warranty from the manufacturer, Idea Marketing Group. Warranty isn’t as long as that of another stick frother we’ve reviewed here, but a warranty is better than no warranty. It requires proof of purchase from Amazon.

So What’s The Point?

I would say the biggest selling point for the Cafe Casa, all things considered, is the dual-speed motor. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen something tailor-made for flexibility. I mean sure, there are some frothers that just happen to be strong enough to be used in beating eggs. But it’s another thing entirely when you have “egg beating” or “cream whipping” as explicitly built-in functions.

This means that using it on your eggs or cream isn’t just some fluke that just happened to be possible because of the machine’s specs. In this case the designers actually did some thinking and consideration, and concluded that you could use this for other things in the kitchen.

As an appreciator of multitasker tools, I’m sure Alton Brown of Good Eats fame would love this handy little tool.

Perfectly Imperfect

The Cafe Casa doesn’t come with batteries. A slight inconvenience that results in a need to head over to the convenience store and grab a pair of AA’s. Well, just make sure to buy a couple before ordering, and that should take care of this problem.

Which leads us to the next one: Apparently, it’s heavy enough by itself that some people actually thought that it had batteries before opening up the packaging. Now that’s not really saying much, considering batteries aren’t that heavy to begin with, and a stick blender is a lot heavier in comparison. So this isn’t really too big of a problem either.

Wisdom of the Masses

As of this writing, the Cafe Casa frother has an average of 4.8 stars on Amazon.com, with a whopping 88% of customers giving it 5 stars.

Much of it has to do with that little tiger of a motor, which one reviewer noted as being powerful enough that he could substitute it for his stick blender. And remember what I said about it being lighter than a stick blender? Yep. So much like a stick blender, you can even use it to make your own mayo, or sauces.

Another reviewer, in a bit of hyperbole, entertained the idea that it was probably powerful enough to propel you upstream. He also said – more likely from experience – that if you weren’t careful, you were more likely than not to end up with your frothy drink all over your kitchen walls and ceiling.

A third reviewer was very impressed by the solid customer service. They apparently went the extra mile to help him out. That’s always a plus.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, though. A customer noted it had some problems in the finish, leaving a little sharp bit that could cause injury. Another one pointed out that even at low setting, it was still going too fast. Well, that’s to be expected, considering the motor.

Overall, the Cafe Casa is a powerful tool worth the budget, if you’re in the market for it. It’s easily the most expensive hand frother on our list, with a list price of $39.95 making it cost just about as much as a discounted version of our cheapest automatic frother. But if you want quality (and rpm’s), then we recommend getting it, despite the little problems it might have.

Now as we already said earlier, it’s fulfilled by Amazon, which means that yes, we recommend getting it from our chosen seller, Amazon.com. Aside from the great packaging, you can also be assured of awesome prices, and super fast delivery.
